Gaffney, South Carolina -- Mr. Joseph Allen Wilson, 56, formerly of 523 W. Montgomery St., passed away on November 19, 2018 at Mary Black Health System-Gaffney.

Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late George and Geraldine Wilson. Joseph previously worked as a mechanic and loved spending time with his cousins and friends at Wilson Compound.

Surviving Mr. Wilson are one son, Allen Michael Wilson, of Gaffney; one daughter, Summer Byars (Christopher), of Gaffney; three sisters, Ginny Wallace, of Gaffney, Jackie Williams (Allen), of Gaffney, Sheri Shipp (Randy), of Wilson, NC; three grandchildren, Madison Nicole Wilson, Autumn Jade Byars, and Winter Monroe Byars; and special family, Horace Wilson-uncle, Joe Wilson-uncle, and Bertha Phillips-aunt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Phillips.

A graveside service will he held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at 3:00 PM at Frederick Memorial Gardens, with a visitation to follow at the graveside.

The family will be at the home of Ginny Wallace, 138 Twin Ridge Road, Gaffney.
