Karl Edward Hardin age 84, of Spindale NC passed away on January 15th, 2017 at his home. Karl was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Hardin, Sr. and Lillian Harris Hardin. Karl was a Korean War veteran serving with the United States Navy. Karl was a devoted Christian and dedicated member to Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. He was actively involved with the Senior Center and had many friends there. Left to cherish his memories are his care giver Louisa Price; brother Grover Cleveland Hardin, Jr of Maryland; nephews Mike McDaniel, Mark McDaniel, Jeff McLean, Jon Andre Hardin, and Robin Hardin; niece Rhonda Stiver. In addition to his parents Karl was preceded in death by his sisters Melba McLean, Martha McDaniel, Wanda Hardin, and brother Blaine Hardin.

Services will be held at 2PM Thursday January 19, 2017 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 250 Hudlow Rd, Forest City, NC 28043 with Rev. Ron Setzer officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Military honors provided by Rutherford County Honor Guard.
