Mrs. Kathleen Elizabeth (Callahan) Fite, age 86 of Shelby, NC, passed away Friday, December 5, 2014 at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain.  Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Monday, December 8, 2014 at Lattimore Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Col. Max Burgin and Rev. Court Greene.  Visitation will be held from 1:30 – 3:00 pm prior to the service at the Church.  Burial will follow at Lattimore Baptist Church Cemetery.  

   She is survived by two children, Ann Jones and husband Steve of Shelby, NC, and Robert Hal Fite Jr. and wife Elaine of Shelby, NC, four grandchildren, Joey Fite of Shelby, NC, David Jones and wife Beth of Shelby, NC, Jesi Lovell of Shelby, NC, and Chris Mode of Knoxville, TN, three great grandchildren, Lora Carolina Jones, Ansley Elizabeth Jones, and Aaron Lovell, all of Shelby, NC, a brother Max Callahan and wife Norma of Lillington, NC and several nieces and nephews.

   Born February 9, 1928, Mrs. Fite was the daughter of the late Lester and Lora (Hamrick) Callahan and was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Hal Fite, Sr.   Kathleen graduated Lattimore High School.  After graduation, she attended college in Charlotte earning a degree in Cosmetology.  Kathleen worked for more than 50 years as a hairdresser.  She was a member of the Lattimore Baptist Church, singing in the choir and a member of the Happy Hearts and the Lattimore Women’s Club.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and traveling with friends on the tour group.

   Pallbearers will be announced.

   The family would like to express a sincere thanks to the staff at White Oak Manor of Kings Mountain for the loving care that they gave Kathleen while she was there and also Hospice of Kings Mountain, her Caregiver, Ginger Justice for the care that was given while at her home.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lattimore Baptist Church, 303 Peachtree Road, Shelby, NC 28152.
