Kathy McSwain Sequoyah age 60 died Thursday February 13, 2014 at her home. Born in Cleveland County on September 23, 1953 she was the daughter of the late James Plato and Ethel Padgett McSwain. Kathy was a member of Piney Mountain Baptist Church in Ellenboro. Kathy worked in the office at Speciality Lighting  for 22yrs. before she retired. She  enjoyed playing cards, word puzzles and going to the mountains. Kathy was  also an avid reader.

Kathy is survived by her daughter, Crystal Coleman of Lawndale and fiancee Wesley Mullinax of Shelby; a sister, Cheryl Self and boyfriend Dennis Brown of Lawndale; adopted son Kenny Green of Shelby; adopted daughter, Leslie Scott of Polkville; and Lifelong best friend, Norma Kidwell of Boiling Springs.

Memorial service will be held on Friday February 21, 2014 at 7:30 pm at Piney Mountain Baptist Church, in Ellenboro,  with Rev. Terry Padgett officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 7:30pm before the service.
