Keith Eugene Bowen, age 42 died Sunday April 6, 2014 at his home. Born in Cleveland County on November 12, 1971, he was the son of Dennis Eugene Bowen of Lawndale and Sylvia Coffey Self and husband Marty of Kings Mountain.  Keith attended Shelby Missionary Methodist Church and was owner operator of Bowen Home Improvement. Keith enjoyed riding motorcycles and fishing and was a volunteer coach for Shelby Intermediate Panthers football.

In addition to his parents, Keith is survived by his fiancée, Maggie Bridges of Shelby; three sons, Joshua Bowen, Dennis Keith Bowen, and Cody Chaya III all of Shelby; a daughter, Reeva Collier and husband Wayne of Shelby; grandparents, Eva McCombs and husband Hugh Ivester of Shelby and Joyce Mann of Shelby; a sister, Brenda Peterson of Grover; a brother, Shane Bowen and wife Tiffany of Mooresboro; a grandson, Jordan Galloway; former wife Sandra Bowen of Shelby; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Friday April 11, 2014 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Loyd Swafford and Rev. David Black officiating. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00pm until 2:00pm.
