Linda Elizabeth Carpenter Triplett, age 72, died Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at her home. Born in Lincoln County on September 18, 1944 she was the daughter of the late Howard Vincent and Rachel Asilee Thomas Carpenter. Linda was a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Saints and Sinners Sunday School class, served on Church Council, Hand Bell Choir, Wings Circle, and Leadership Development Committee. She retired as an executive assistant from Hurst Jaws of Life. Linda was the happiest when she was with her family. She enjoyed cooking and eating with her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Linda was always with her family. In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by a brother, Vincent Carpenter Jr.; brother-in-law, Hubert Triplett, Jr.

Linda is survived by her husband of 52 years, Larry Triplett; two sons, Jeff Triplett and wife Beth, and Matt Triplett and wife Laney all of Shelby; a sister, Frankie Hicks of Shelby; two brothers, Bill Carpenter and wife Sonja and John Carpenter all of Shelby; six grandchildren, Kelsey Triplett, Jared Triplett, Tyler Triplett, Ethan Triplett, Spencer Triplett, and Lilly Triplett; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby Triplett and wife Delle of Shelby, Caroll Triplett and wife Kay of Lexington, SC, and Oleta Triplett of Shelby.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at 4:00 pm at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Danny Leonard officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall. Private burial will be at Cleveland Memorial Park.
