Lois “Granny” Owens, age 90, of Cuddles Lane, Bostic, NC, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at her residence.
Born July 21, 1924 in Henderson County, she was a daughter of the late Edgar McCraw and Bessie Jackson McCraw. Lois was a homemaker all of her life and was affectionately called “Granny” by all her knew her, because of her desire to take care all of her family and friends. She was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Owens and sister, Annie Dimsdale.
Survivors include her daughter, Jackie Condrey and fiancé, Bill Yon of Bostic; three grandsons, Donnie Hannon and wife, Cassie, Arthur Hannon and wife, Stacy and Norman and wife Brandy; one brother, Vance McCraw and wife, Ruth of Hendersonville. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a host of friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the Piedmont Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and at other times will be gathered at 166 Cuddles Lane, Bostic.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
