Loretta Parker Smith, 68, of 316 Holmes St. Gaffney, SC, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Novant Health Gaffney Medical Center, Gaffney, SC. Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of the late Roy Rogers Smith, Sr., and a daughter of the late Eddie H. and Margaret Horne Parker. Loretta loved to crochet and work with crafts.
She is survived by two sons - Roy R. Smith, Jr., and Eddie Dean Parker both of Gaffney, SC; five daughters - Cheryl Lynn Smith, Edith Darwin, Loretta Whiten, Ruth Renee Durham and Stella Rose-Lee Raines all of Gaffney, SC; seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three sisters - Linda Weathers and Dorothy Hollifield both Gaffney, SC, and Barbara Purvis of Kings Mountain, NC; and three brothers - Steve Parker, Johnny Parker and Eddie Parker all of Gaffney, SC. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by one sister - Becky Ann Adams.
Private services will be held at a later date. The family will be at their respective homes.
