Marshall A. "Marshall Dillon" Bowen
Mr. Marshall A. "Marshall Dillon" Bowen, Sr., 86, passed away
on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.

Mr. Bowen was born in Cleveland County, NC on October 21, 1928 a son of the
late Ben L. Bowen and Ethel Blalock Bowen.  He was a graduate of Waco High
School and Howard Business College. Mr. Bowen was a member of Waco Baptist
Church and the W.H. Dodd Sunday School Class.  He was retired after 28 years
as a dock worker from Carolina Freight Carriers Corporation in Cherryville
and served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Janet
Pendleton and three brothers, Ben, Gene and Carson Bowen.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Dorothy "Dot" Davis Bowen of the
home; a son Marshall A. Bowen, Jr. of Belwood; two daughters and
sons-in-law, Sonya Bridges and Mark of Cherryville and Susan Bivins and Mike
of Lawndale; four grandchildren, Brandon Adkins, Adison Bowen, Jessie Bivins
Smith and John Bivins.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00PM at
Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at
Waco Baptist Church with Dr. Harold Fite officiating.  The body will be
placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service.

Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fallston.
