Martha Eva Brackett Hoyle, 81, of 2207 Curt Ledford Road, Lawndale, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Hospice at Wendover.
She was born in Lincoln County on August 9, 1932 to the late Clarence Dewey Brackett, Sr. and Mattie Ethel Mosteller Brackett. She was retired from Basset & Hickory Mfg. as an inspector and a charter member of Hoyle Memorial Christian Fellowship Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ledford Hoyle, brothers Lonnie Brackett, Lee Brackett and Carl Brackett, sisters Geneva Colvard, Pauline Brackett Unverzagt, Lona Brackett, Virginia Brooks, and Ethel Brackett.
She is survived by daughter Ethel Newton and husband Steve, of Lawndale; two sons, Robbie Hoyle of Lawndale, Wayne Hoyle and wife Tammy of Hickory; grandchildren, Eric Newton and wife Misty, Christy Liverman and husband
Kevin, and Gwen Neal and husband Robert; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Cody, Kylee, Mason, and Kaylee; brothers, CD Brackett, Jr. of Salisbury, Edgar Brackett of Cherryville, and Fred Brackett of Lancaster, SC; sisters, Rebecca Osborne of Lenoir, and Evelyn Smith of Cherryville, and twenty-five nieces/nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 24, 2014, 6-8 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home.
The funeral will be Wedneday, June 25, 2014, 11 a.m. at Hoyle Memorial Christian Fellowship Church with the Revs. Dick Chapman and Brian Chapman officiating. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes prior to the service.
