SHELBY – Mrs. Mary Hazel Ellis Crawford, 100, of John Crawford Rd., met her savior face to face, Tues., Dec. 4, 2012 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.  A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late John Lee and Gertrude Rippy Ellis.  While in LPN school, she received the highest grade in her class. She retired from Cleveland Memorial Hospital after many years as a nurse.  She was the oldest living member of New Hope Baptist Church.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon E. Crawford; daughter, Betty Carter and her husband H.L Jr..; grandson, Buddy Carter; brothers, James, Lee, Orie, Wayne, Quitman, and Paul Ellis.

SURVIVED:  She is survived by her sons, Bobby Joe Crawford and wife Anne of Shelby, Vic Crawford and wife Johnsie of Brandon, Fl.; sister, Johnnie Vance of Jacksonville, Fl; grandchildren, Beth Hamrick and fiancé Ron Grigg, Bruce Crawford, Bert Crawford and wife Kathy, Beverly Simpson and husband Robert, all of Shelby, Victor Crawford and wife Sharon of Nashville, Monica Crawford of Lancaster, KY, Jeff Crawford and wife Christy of Glasgow, KY, Mary Greene, Daniel Carter and wife Melissa, all of Fl.; 17 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews survive.

SERVICES:  Friday, 3pm, at New Hope Baptist Church

VISITATION:  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the church.
