Meet the Uptown Shelby Foothills Farmers’ Market Manager
Angie Smith
Angelina Smith, a graduate of Burns High School, North Carolina State and law school at Florida Coastal, returned to Shelby in 2011 and joined the law firm of Flowers & Martin. Her interest is agricultural and environmental law. A former board member, Angie is now the manager of the Foothills Farmers’ Market Uptown Shelby location.
Everyone calls her Angie and she is very excited about the new, permanent home for Foothills Farmers Market, a shade pavilion, in Uptown Shelby at the corner of Marion and Morgan Streets, construction to begin this summer. Angie said she would like to: “Increase awareness and educate the community on the great health and local economic benefits which the Market provides.” Look for expanded activities at the Market which includes live music, cooking demonstrations, children’s activities, local food samples, a beekeepers presentation and local corn roast this season.
