Michael “Penny” Claude Jarrell, age 63 of Lincolnton Hwy, died Monday, October 20, 2014 at Carolina HealthCare Systems, Lincoln.  He was born on September 17, 1951 in Cleveland County to the late Roy Alfred and Matilda Boyles Jarrell.  He was retired from Timken in Lincolnton.  Mike was known as a prankster and fun-loving.  He enjoyed decorating for the seasons, especially Christmas.  He loved spending time with his family.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Roy Jarrell. 

 

Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Nancy Thompson Jarrell; sons, Christopher Michael Jarrell (Leslie) of Gastonia, Gregory Wade Jarrell (Eva) of Fallston, and Robbie Hubbard of Asheville; daughter, Pam Jarrell of Kings Mountain; sisters, Kay Poovey (Gene), Fay Pitman, and Diane Haynes (Jim) all of Lincolnton; twelve grandchildren, Gage Jarrell, Mason Jarrell, Justin Jarrell, Kenny Daniels, Sarah Grace Hubbard, Dayne, Aleiah, Navey, Rebecca, Rhyne, R.J. and Cody; and two great grandchildren, Rylie and R.J. III.

 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 8:00 PM at Carpenter’s Funeral & Cremation Services.  Burial will be private.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 to 7:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
