Mickey Ray

KINGS MOUNTAIN- Mickey Ray, 66, of 711 McDaniel Road, passed away, Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. A native of Gaston County, he was born May 25, 1948, so of the late Major D. and Pearl Savage Ray. He was a member of Christian Freedom Baptist Church, also attended Landmark Baptist Church in Gastonia. He was a dear friend to all who knew him and was a true man of God. The Ray family would like to thank Kings Mountain Hospice House for their love, compassion, support, and excellent care they gave their dad and his family.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Linda Ray; seven sisters, Frances Wineberger, Annabelle Panther, May Mauney, Elsie Godfrey, Reba Goff, Lucille Herron, and Glenda Looper.

SURVIVED: He is survived by two sons, Michael Ray of Virginia, and Jamie Ray and wife Delana of Kings Mountain; four daughters, Sherry Rosson and husband Robert of TN, Rebecca Ford and husband Gary, Rhonda Ray both of Lowell, and Deborah Ray of Gastonia; one sister Rachel Fisher and husband Jim of Stanley; eleven grandchildren, Andrew, Katie, Jessica, Dean, Kelly, Whitney, Bailey, MeKenzie, Kayla, Alex, and Austin.

SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 2:30pm Saturday at Christian Freedom Baptist Church.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 1-2:30 pm at the church.

CLERGY: Rev. Mike Chambers and Rev. Sam Snyder will officiate.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.

PALLBEARERS: Jeff Fisher, Robbie Fisher, Steve Goff, Wayne “Wayneo” Upchurch, Chris Herron, Blaine Fisher.
