DALLAS - Mr. Mike Elwin Straugh, age 77, was born June 4, 1938 in Fenton, Michigan and went to be home with our Lord in Heaven on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas. He was predeceased by his parents, Jesse David and Stella Wertman Straugh; three brothers, Bert, Jay and Jessie Straugh; two sisters, Hilda (Peggy) Brooks and Wynona Straugh; one grandson, Jeremy Wriston.
Mike is survived by a Loving and faithful Companion, LaVonna of Dallas; two daughters, Connie S. Howard of Dallas and Debbie Huitt (Mike) of Stanley, NC; one sister, Ruth Harter of Michigan; six grandchildren, Jason (Karrie), Shane and Joshua of Michigan and Sara and David Howard of Dallas, NC and Amanda Huitt of Lowell, NC and twelve great-grandchildren.
First and foremost Mike was a devout Christian that served the Lord in every aspect of his life. He was a member of Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church of Dallas, NC. He loved his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews and was an avid Golfer.
A 3:00 P.M. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church, 682 Dallas-Spencer Mountain Road, Dallas, with the Rev. Don Payne officiating.
