Muriel Elizabeth Devine Grigg

SHELBY - Muriel Elizabeth Devine Grigg, 75, peacefully went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in the early morning on Thursday, April 16, 2015. Muriel was born October 12, 1939 to the late Max Howard and Grace Padgett Devine. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Phillip H. Devine and sister, Martha S. Devine

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Billy Gene Grigg; sons, Jeffrey Warren Grigg, wife, Jenny of Columbia, SC and Howard Wayne Grigg of Shelby. Precious grandchildren, Emily Grigg of Shelby and Mason Grigg of Columbia, SC and her canine companion, Skyler. She is also survived by sisters: Peggy D. Howell, Mable D. Shepherd, Dorothy D. Tesseneer (John of Rock Hill), Vickie D. Jackson, Vallery D. McCoy (Tom) and Pamela J. Devine. Brothers-in-law: Garland Grigg & wife, Nancy, Carme Grigg & wife, Dorothy, of Shelby and Heyward Grigg & wife, Ella of Cherryville, as well as many nieces and nephews who will her wit and love. n addition to her family and grandchildren,

Muriel enjoyed her church family, gospel music and especially her spring vegetable garden which she started two weeks ago. She was a graduate of Number 3 High School in Earl, NC and worked a brief time at Fiber Industries. Her greatest career was that of wife, mother, and homemaker for her family.

A celebration of Muriel's life will be held at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, Shelby, on Saturday, April 18, 2015 with visitation from 1PM to 2PM and the service immediately following at the Church with the Rev. Scott Holland officiating. At other times, the family will be at the home she shared with her husband, Billy G. Grigg.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 2305 Kingston Rd., Shelby, NC 28150 or of the donor's choice.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Daniel Davis, all the staff at CRMC 4th floor West, Dr. Forrest Thompson and the staff at Hospice Wendover.
