Muriel Jean Yeomans Wallace



Muriel Jean Yeomans Wallace, age 73, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Hospice Kings Mountain. Born on November 4, 1940 she was the daughter of the late Russell Lowell and Mae Miller Yeomans. Jean was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and a former member of Calvary Baptist Church. Jean taught the Children’s Department for many years and loved to sing in the choir. Jean enjoyed serving others and did so by cooking and sewing. She made many tablecloths and baby blankets and gave them to family and friends. In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Dan Wallace.

Jean is survived by her two sons, Joe Wallace and wife Karen of Ft. Pierce, FL. and Michael Wallace and wife Shannon of Shelby; two daughters, Sherry Champion and husband Keith, and Debbie Hoyle and husband Kirby all of Shelby; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Wallace of Shelby; step-mother, Edna Yeomans of Shelby;  a brother, Rusty Yeomans and wife Sonya of Charlotte; eleven grandchildren, Emily Green and husband Brandon, Jay Wallace and wife Haley, Seth Buff, Zach Buff, Caleb Wallace, Breana Wallace, Bradley Champion, Daniel Champion, Jeanie Davidson and husband Reese, Susan Parker and husband Chris, and Dustin Hoyle; and four great-grandchildren, Clara Green, Becca Champion, Maggie Champion, and Clay Parker.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with Rev. Andy Oliver and Rev. Davie Rabb officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the sanctuary.
