Muriel Louise Cooper 86, of Mooresboro passed away on Tuesday April 19, 2016 at Fair Haven Home in Bostic, NC.

Born on January 13, 1930 in McDowell County, she was the daughter of the late Russell Goode and Blanche Beachboard Goode. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Houston Benjamin Cooper. She was retired from Cleveland County Schools. She was a member of Race Path Baptist Church. Muriel was a wonderful cook, avid reader and most of all loved her family.

Surviving are a son, Gary Cooper and daughter-in-law Phyllis of Charlotte, a grandson Adam Cooper of Charlotte, a granddaughter, Erin Balduf of Laurinburg, a great grandson Ezekiel Balduf, brother, Joseph Goode and wife Pat of Mooresboro, sister Beatrice Morrison and husband Willie of Forest City, sister Commie Ballard of Bostic and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Grady Goode, Jr., Carl Goode and Ernest Goode.

The family would like to express gratitude to the caregivers at Fair Haven Home and Hospice for the loving care they gave Muriel.

Funeral services will be Thursday April 21, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Race Path Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Randall Cooper. Receiving friends will be one hour prior to the service.
