Association for the Welfare of Animals
        NFL (Neuter For Life) Draft is a spay/neuter program offered by Association for the Welfare of Animals of Cleveland County in conjunction with Foothills Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic of Hickory. Appointments to have your pet spayed or neutered may be made by calling 704-477-5662. Pets will be transported from Belwood, and pricing for July 14 range from $35 - $60. This includes feral cats and dogs up to 100 pounds!! Please call by July 1 to register your pet for this event!
Life Enrichment Center Adult Day Care and Health Services
   Life Enrichment Center Adult Day Care and Health Services, 110 Life Enrichment Blvd., Shelby, NC, will be having a discussion for caregivers of individuals with dementia, about the challenges of caregiving and how to meet those challenges and, a reminder to take care of you, the caregiver, Tuesday, July 15, 5:30pm - 7:00, at 110 Life Enrichment Blvd., Shelby, NC. Hospice Cleveland County Events
   Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC will have the following events in July and August:
        “Reflections” Support Group - Tuesdays: July 15, 22, 29, and August 5,12, and 19, 5:30pm - 7:00pm, at Hospice Cleveland County Administration Building. This grief sharing group meets for six weeks. No cost and open to anyone who has lost a loved one.
        “Christmas in July” - Thursday, July 24, 5:00pm - 7:00pm, Kings Mountain Hospice House, 321 Kings Mountain Blvd., Kings Mountain, NC or Friday, July 25, 10:00am - noon, Hospice Cleveland County Administration Building. Participants will have the opportunity to make Christmas ornaments in memory of a loved one who has died. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult. Please call one of our Grief Counselors at 704-487-4677 to register for this event.
        “Hospice Training Class” - Monday, August 4, Tuesday, August 5, and Thursday, August 7, 9:00am - 1:00pm or 5:30pm - 9:30pm, at the Hospice Cleveland County Administration Building. Hospice training is open to anyone who is interest in learning more about hospice care and the services provided to the community. This 12-hour course is free and there is no obligation to volunteer. To get credit for the entire course, you will need to attend all days at one of the times offered. For more information, contact 704-751-3573. ext. 111.
        “Memory Bear Workshop” - Thursday, August 7, 9:00am - noon or 4:00pm - 7:00pm, at Kings Mountain Hospice House, 321 Kings Mountain Blvd., Kings Mountain, NC. Participants will have the opportunity to make a teddy bear out of a loved one’s shirt or other article of clothing. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult. Space is limited. British and World Champion Smithills School Senior Brass Band to perform
   The British and World Champion Smithills School Senior Brass Band will be returning for the third time to perform a concert at Shelby Middle School auditorium Wednesday, July 16, 7:00pm. The concert will be free and open to the public, but donations will be accepted to help the band with tour expenses. Their performance will be hosted by Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Shelby and Shelby Middle School. For information please call Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 704-487-8491. Cleveland County Post-Polio Support Group
   The Cleveland County Post-Polio Support Group will hold the July meeting at the conference room of the Life Enrichment Center of Shelby, Monday, July 21, 6:00pm.  The conference room is located at the back of the building. The center is located off Hwy 18 North on Life Enrichment Blvd, just north of Cornerstone Dentistry. Each person attending should bring his/her own meal. Drinks- coffee and water - will be provided. The program will be presented by David Thompson, a polio survivor. He will share his story of life with polio.  If you are a polio survivor please plan to attend. The Town of Waco
   The Town of Waco is holding their monthly meeting at Waco Town Hall Building, 200 A.W. Black Street, July 21, 7:00 pm. Many discussions will take place at that time. If any citizen/resident or business owners have any questions or concerns, please come out and attend. Everyone is always invited and welcome!
Piecemakers Quilt Guild
        Piecemakers Quilt Guild meets the first Wednesday of each month from 10:00am - 12:00pm at the Lincoln Co. Senior Center, Lincoln Campus of Gaston College, 511 Aspen St., Lincolnton. We are here to teach and encourage those interested in the art of quilting, visitors and new members are always welcome. Cherryville Little Theatre, Disney’s Aladdin, Jr.
   Cherryville Little Theatre is excited to announce the stage production of Disney’s Aladdin, Jr. There will be two evening performances schedule for Friday, July 25 and Saturday, July 26, 7:00pm. Two are two matinee performances on Saturday, July 26, 2:00pm and Sunday, July 27, 3:00pm. Tickets are $6 for students/seniors citizens and $8 for adults. Doors open 45 minutes prior to performances for ticket purchase or you may pre-buy tickets in the lobby of CLT from 1:00-3:00pm, Monday-Thursday, July 21 - July 24. Join them in the city of Agrabah, where you will see the fantastic tale of the street rat who became a prince!

Kiwanis Club, Shelby
        Kiwanis Club of Shelby is a group of professionals who are involved in the community and looking to change Cleveland County, one child at a time. This fundraising and project oriented club meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month at noon at Deer Brook Restaurant, 201 Deer Brook Drive, Shelby, NC; or the 2nd Thursday evening of every month at 5:30pm at Dragonfly Wine Market, 101 West Warren Street, Shelby, NC. One evening social a month at area restaurants. Membership dues are $40 per quarter plus $60 per quarter if you attend lunch meetings. Mental Health Association of Cleveland County
        Survivors of Suicide Support Group meets twice a month, with a daytime and evening meeting. The Evening Group meets the 2nd Monday of every month from 6:30pm - 8:00pm at The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer (502 W. Sumter Street, Shelby, NC).  The Daytime Group meets the last Tuesday of every month from 11:30am - 1:30pm at the Cleveland Memorial Library (104 Howie Drive, Shelby, NC). Sponsored by the Mental Health Association in Cleveland County. Parents Without Partners, Shelby
       PWP meets every Monday night at 7:00 pm. at the Shelby Presbyterian Church for educational programs and at other times as scheduled for monthly social activities including: dances, plays, and concerts.
