Community Thanksgiving Day Event, Forest City
Word of Deliverance, Inc., R.O.T.W. Reaching Outside The Walls Ministries, Forest City, NC, will sponsor a "Free Dinner and More", Thursday, November 26, 2015, 9:00am - 11:00am, at Cool Springs Gym, 400 W. Main St., Forest City, NC. Free Giveaways: There will be 200 boxes of paper products, personal hygienes and canned goods. Baby diapers will be given out until they run out. Handel's Messiah at Ambassador Baptist College
The public is cordially invited to kick off the Christmas season with Ambassador Baptist College's annual presentation of Handel's Messiah. On Friday, November 27, 2015, and Saturday, November 28, 2015 the college chorale and selected soloists will be singing excerpts from Handel's Messiah, as well as additional Christmas selections. The doors will open each night at 6:15pm and the concert will start at 7:00pm. Both concerts will be held in the R.A. Torrey Auditorium and are free of charge. Selections include "All We Like Sheep," "For Unto Us a Child is Born," "And With His Stripes," and the world-famous Hallelujah Chorus. Please plan to come early since seating is limited. A nursery for young children will be provided. At the conclusion of the concert, a love offering will be received for the student scholarship fund. Ambassador Baptist College is a private, four-year college dedicated to training young people for the ministry. Hospice Cleveland County
Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC and Testa Family Hospice House, 321 Kings Mountain Blvd., Kings Mountain, will have the following events for Nov. and Dec. 2015.
"Memory Making with Ornaments" - Participants will have the opportunity to make holiday ornaments in memory of their loved one. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult. Town of Grover
Join The Town of Grover Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 11:00am to 6:00pm for Christmas! They have a full day planned, from a traditional Christmas Parade to meeting with Santa on his sleigh. They will also have a couple of special guests from Arendelle...Anna & Elsa! Your kids will have great day with the Reindeer Games and fun bounce houses, which are all free! So come to Main Street in Grover for some holiday fun! And stick around until evening for Grover's 1st Annual Tree Lighting.
Town of Earl
The Town of Earl will have their Christmas Parade on Sunday, December 6, 2015 After the parade, everyone is invited to a community service at New Hope Baptist Church, at 4:30pm. Expect to hear joyous singing. A soup and sandwich supper will follow the service.
Shelby Lions Club Distribution
The Shelby Lions Club reports it gave away food commodities to between six thousand and seven thousand persons--2,900 families--during the distribution that ended September 16, 2015. The next distribution will be Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at the Cleveland County Fairground. The items to be distributed will be apple sauce, canned chicken, grean beans, corn, ham, cranberry sauce, apple juice, cereal, grapefruit juice, macaroni, peanut butter, and canned pork.
Casar Elementary School
Please donate new and used items at the Casar Elementary School office for the Angel Tree Benefit Christmas Sale. The sale is on Friday and Saturday, December 11 and 12, 2015, at the old Casar Fire Dept. starting at 8:00am. All proceeds go to benefit Casar Elementary School's Angel Tree. Town of Casar
The Town of Casar is now taking entries for the Casar Christmas Parade. The parade is on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at 3:00pm, lineup is at 1:30pm. Make sure and bring candy. They still throw candy. Gaston County VFW Bingo Christmas Season
Gaston County VFW will hold their Christmas Season Bingo, on Fridays, at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9337, 3250 W. Franklin Blvd., Gastonia, NC. Early games start at 6:30pm, and regular games at 7:00pm. Smoke-free event. Public invited. Fridays (Exceptions: no Bingo on December 25, 2015 or January 1, 2016).
Shelby Friends 50 and Over
The Shelby Friends 50 and Over would like to invite you to join them for meals together, activities, picnics, dances and other scheduled events. They meet the first Friday of the month, at Golden Coral and Fisherman's Feast the third Thursday. If interested, please call 704-477-9085.
