New Urgent Care Center To Open In January
The urgent care center can act as supplement medical care to your primary care physician, offering care after regular business hours and on the weekends when most primary care physician offices are closed. It is also a quicker, less expensive alternative to an emergency room visit for minor, acute illnesses and injuries. When the center opens in January, the staff will be available to help patients with any type of illness or injury that must be addressed immediately but is non-life threatening. Those services include: General illnesses including sore throats, earaches, bronchitis, colds and flu and upset stomach Sprains, strains and fracture care Lacerations and burns Simple foreign body removal from the eye, ear, nose and skin Physicals for school, sports, camp and work Assistance in selecting a primary care physician Planned hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., seven days per week. The center will be staffed with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and lab and radiology technicians. Urgent care centers are not appropriate places for patients with acute chest pain, severe shortness of breath or other acute life threatening illnesses or injuries. If you are experiencing these or similar symptoms dial 911.
