O.V. "Peg" Ledford Wright, 95, of Shelby, passed away Thursday, October 16,
2014 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.
She was born on May 10, 1919 to the late David Cleodus Ledford and Katie
Rowe Ledford. She was retired as a sales clerk for Hudson House of Fabric.
Mrs. Wright was a member of LaFayette Street Methodist Church. She also
loved to do ceramics and sew and enter her crafts into the Cleveland County
Fair where she often won 1st place.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Wray
Clenzo Wright; daughter-in-law, Martha Wright; four brothers, Olen Ledford,
Raymond Ledford, D.P. Ledford and Willard Ledford; and two sisters, Opal
Smith and Inez Hoover.
She is survived by her two sons E. Dale Wright and wife Linda, of Shelby and
David Larry Wright, Sr. of Shelby; grandchildren, David Larry Wright, Jr.
and wife, Julie, Everette Dale Wright, Jr. and wife Norma, Anita Bell and
husband, Cliff, and Kellie Putnam and husband, Rob; step-grandchildren,
Tonya Watts and Chad Watts and wife, Jill; great-grandchildren, Casey
Wright, Lyndsie Jarvis and husband, Greg, Joshua Shelton and wife, Katie,
Hillary Burcham and husband, Casey, Jordan Shelton, and Marti Wright; and
step-great-grandchilren, Brandon Lee McSwain, Jesse Putnam and Stephanie
Putnam; and great-great grandchildren, MaKayla Jarvis, Jayden Jarvis and
Bailey Watts; brother, Talmadge Ledford of Valdese and sister, Katie Cook of
Shelby.
Visitation: 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Friday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home &
