Mrs. Ollie Mae Dellinger "Granny" Whitworth, 91, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Whitworth was born on November 28, 1922 in Gaston County, NC a daughter of the late Alfred Dellinger and Dovie Chapman Dellinger. She was retired from Howell Manufacturing in Cherryville.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, J.L. Whitworth; a son, James Whitworth and two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Susan Clary and Husband, Ralph of Winnsboro, SC; six grandchildren, Chris Whitworth, Mike Whitworth, Douglas Pruitt, Rebecca Pruitt, Sandra Spry, Kim Humphries; eleven great
grandchildren, Tony, Taylor and Andrew Shull; Kristen, Jessica and Rebekah Whitworth; Jacob Helms, Alyssa Jackson, David Pruitt, Lacy and Logan Humphries; also surviving is a sister, Litha Shull of Cherryville.
A Private Family Graveside service will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Cherryville
