Ovenis Waters Warlick, 96, of Gastonia, passed away Tuesday February 18, 2014 at Meadowood Nursing Center.
Born May 23, 1917 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Cohen Waters and Laura Turner Waters. She was a homemaker and a member of Casar Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everette Cecil Warlick and three sisters Monnie Stewart, Dess Stewart, and Dean Maddox.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Dan & Lana Warlick and Larry & Cornelia Warlick, daughter, Janice Cortez, six brothers, Robert "Hoot" Waters, Elijah Waters, Dewitt Waters, Charles Waters, James Waters, and Jesse Waters, two sisters, Clara Hefner and Sue Johnson, five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at Stamey Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Thursday at 2:00PM at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Pruett officiating.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
