Ralph Lewis Heavner Ralph Lewis Heavner, age 86 of Flint Hill Rd. died Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Carolina Care Center.  He was born on September 5, 1927 in Gaston County to the late Charlie Clyde and Nancy Hester Brown Heavner.  He was a member of Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church and a retired dairy farmer.  Ralph enjoyed yard work, gardening, and sharing his harvest with others.   In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Reba Haynes.   Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Vergie Lorene Willis Heavner; daughters, Sherry Trammell and husband, Ray and Beth Edwards and husband, Scott, all of Cherryville; brothers, Billy Ray Heavner of Crouse and Eddie Heavner and wife, Susan of Cherryville; sisters, Mary Lou Wacaster, and Polly Houser both of Cherryville; grandchildren, Shellie Jones and Bo Trammell and wife, Peggy, all of Cherryville; great-grandchildren, Scott Jones, Daniel Jones, Bud Gates, Emily, and Erica; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.    Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Missionary Methodist Church with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw officiating.  Burial will follow at City Memorial Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at the church.   Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Dr. Shelby NC 28150 or to Missionary Methodist Church, 318 W.
