Rena Mae Sellers Wallace, age 90, of Sellerstown Rd., died Wednesday, April 16, 2014. She was born on February 10, 1924 in Cleveland County to the late David Andrew and Lee Nora Huffstetler Sellers. Rena was a member of Mary’s Grove United Methodist Church. She was a caregiver for many years to her parents and brother. Rena loved to be outside and enjoyed gardening and watching the birds. She also enjoyed crocheting, working puzzles and reading.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee Wallace Jr. and her brother, Paul Sellers.
Survivors include her sons, Guy and Paula Wallace of Gastonia, and Forrest and Sandra Wallace of Cherryville; daughter, Patricia and Kenneth Wofford of Newton; grandchildren, Alec and Tammy Wallace of Lincolnton, Jeleta and Michael Auten of Cherryville, Sonya and Warren Snowdon of Charlotte, and Landis and Gabe Taylor of Candler; great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Colby Auten, William Wallace, and Ava, Cooper, and Marley Snowdon; and caregiver, Jane Workman of Vale.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Mary’s Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Charlene Hutchings officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 18, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Carpenter’s Funeral & Cremation Services.
