Richard Arlen Waddle, Jr
 Richard Arlen Waddle, Jr., age 56, of Forest City formerly of Raleigh passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Wednesday, August 20, 2014.
 
     Born November 24, 1957 in Upson County, Georgia, he is a son of Bertha Louise Childress who resides in Forest City.  He was a graduate of Chase High School, class of 1975 and attended Gardner-Webb University and NC State University.  He was thrilled and appreciative of the 37th Chase High School class reunion planned in his honor by his classmates.  Richard worked in property management for nearly thirty years and enjoyed basketball, golf, time with his nieces and nephews and especially playing ball with Dax Wall and Caden Ridgeway.  He was an avid NC State fan and was in attendance at the NC State Brickyard when they won the 1983 NCAA Basketball Championship. Richard always enjoyed having dinner with his close friends. He is now gone to be with his Heavenly Father.
 
      Besides his mother, survivors includes six sisters, Richie Louise Waddle of Simpsonville, SC, (his twin sister) Vicky Dianne Waddle of Forest City, Sheila Waddle Michelsen of Maryland, Lori Pierce of Cleveland, TN, Janice Plemmons and Tracie Smith both of Swannanoa, NC; three brothers, Virgil Wall, Jr. of Apex, NC, Arlen Waddle of Panama Beach, FL and Charles Childress, Jr. of Hendersonville, NC.
 
      Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2014 with Reverend John Godfrey and Reverend Robert Biggerstaff officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
 
       In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC  28043 or to High Shoal Baptist Church, PO Box 386, Henrietta, NC  28076.
