Richard Lee Siegel, age 65, of Line Drive, Forest City, passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
Born June 2, 1949 in Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Herman Siegel and Irene Alice Fulton Siegel. He worked as commercial truck driver for most of his life, having worked for Tru-Pak Trucking and most recently for Federal Express. He was a member of Fork Creek Baptist Church and an avid fisherman. Richard was also a NASCAR fan and enjoyed reading.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Cogdell Siegel; son, Peter Franklin Ledford of Forest City; daughter, Shannon Lynn Wilson of Ellenboro; brother, John Fulton Siegel and wife, Patricia of Charlotte and sister, Robin Morris Siegel of Ft. Myers Florida. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Ryan Allred and wife, Tiffany, Nathaniel Hamrick and Trinity Phillips; two great-grandchildren, Audrey Allred and Malachi Allred; two nieces, one nephew and one great niece.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Fork Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Billy Cogdell officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
