Rita Lane Drewery Hastings age 69 died Sunday November 22, 2015 at Cleveland Pines. Born in Cleveland County on May 5, 1946, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy and Mary Ruth Sweezy Drewery. Rita was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She worked for 15 years at Dicey Mills and retired from the Textile Industry. Rita enjoyed traveling and spending time with her sisters, grandchildren and family. In addition to her parents, Rita is preceded in death by a brother, Robert Drewery and a sister, Betty McSwain.

Rita is survived by two daughters, Melanie Barrett and husband Wesley and Kelly Auton and husband Troy all of Shelby; four sisters, Barbara Bridges of Caroleen, Wanda Cooper, Pat Spangler, and Brenda Truelove all of Shelby; two brothers, Charles Drewery and Roger Drewery both of Shelby; and three grandchildren, Brandon Rogers, Morgan Rogers and Taylor Auton.

Funeral service will be held on Friday November 27, 2015 at 11:00 am at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Sisk officiating, Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 10:00 am until 11:00 am in the sanctuary, and other times at the home of Kelly and Troy Auton.
