Mr. Robert Hal Fite Jr., age 59 of Lattimore, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte.
He is survived by his son, Joseph Fite of Shelby, NC, and a sister, Ann Jones and husband Steve of Shelby, NC.
Born March 3, 1956 in Cleveland County, Mr. Fite was the son of the late Robert Hal Fite, Sr. and Kathleen Elizabeth (Callahan) Fite.
Mr. Fite graduated from Crest High School. Robert was a member of Lattimore Baptist Church and a volunteer for Hearts and Hooves and a former volunteer firefighter for Station #7 in Lattimore. Mr. Fite worked as a plumber for Fite Plumbing. He enjoyed his dogs (Sassy and Little Bit), watching sports, especially his Duke Blue Devils and his Dallas Cowboys and spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, February 8, 2016 at Lattimore Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Max Burgin and Rev. Court Greene. A visitation will be held from 12:30 - 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lattimore Baptist Church, 303 Peachtree Street, Shelby NC 28150.
