Roddey Gregory "Greg" Eaves, age 55, died Thursday, March 16, 2017 at his home. Born in Cleveland County on October 19, 1961, he was the son of the Roddey Phifer Eaves of Raleigh and the late Mary Alice Brydges Eaves. Greg was a member of First Baptist Church where he helped with the sound system. He worked for Walmart Distribution for 14 years as a yard driver. He enjoyed collecting trains and was an avid UNC-Chapel Hill fan.

Greg is survived by his wife Myra Cook Eaves; two sons, Drake Eaves and Clay Eaves both of Ellenboro; two step sons, Alan McDaniel and Austin McDaniel of Grover; a step daughter, Carrie McDaniel of Grover; a sister, Dawn Massey and husband Shawn of Edenton; a granddaughter, Payton Eaves.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Dennis Creedon officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
