|Roger Dale Poteat
| Roger Dale Poteat, 57, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at his home.
Born in Cleveland County on May 1, 1956, he was the son of the late Jack
Evans and Betty Joyce Hamrick Poteat.
He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptistg Church and a self employeed mechanic.
His hobbies were riding Harley's and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with
his family and neices and nephews who called him "Daddy Dale."
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by by a son, Jason
Poteat; mother and father-in-law, Dale and Dorothy Holland.
Mr. Poteat is survived by his wife of 33 years, Teresa Poteat; a daughter,
Jennifer Poteat anbd husband Joe Haley of Shelby; three sisters, Jackie
Steen, Karen Hunt, and Kim Poteat all of Shelby; two grandchildren, Joseph
HaleyJr., and Jersey-Lynn Haley; and brothers and sister-in-law, Roger
Holland and wife Lisa of Forest City, Howard Holland of Shelby and Mae
Murray of Forest City; and his beloved dogs, Bear and Freckles.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 3:00 PM at Beaver Dam Baptist
Church with the Dr. Paul Sorrells, Rev Phil Hughs and Joe McCurry.
Burial will follow in church cemetery.
