Roger Michael Hamrick,
 Roger Michael Hamrick, 64, of Ferry Road, Cliffside, died on Friday, May 23, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. A native of Rutherford County, he was born on Wednesday, December 21, 1949, a son of the late George Dewitt Hamrick and Daisy Hamrick Hamrick. He retired from Duke Energy - Cliffside Plant after 40 years of service. Some of the highlights of his career at Duke were to install the first computer in the Control Room and later on he was the first Procedure Writer for the plant.  His last position was as Shift Supervisor. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Ellenboro. Roger loved all types of music, especially the steel guitar; he also loved vintage cars and motorcycles. Roger married his high school sweetheart, Peggy, on June 06, 1971. He was a loving, kind and generous person.
 
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Parris Hamrick; his father and mother-in-law, Leroy and Ruby Parris of Cliffside; his sister and brother-in-law, JoAnne and Joe Fasolino of Cliffside; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
 
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents who raised him, Hoyle and Beulah Hamrick, and three sisters, Ruby Hamrick, Faye Hamrick Davis, and Carol Hamrick Pryor.
 
A Celebration of Roger’s Life will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Sepaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the State Line Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7:00pm-8:30pm on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service. The body will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service on Wednesday.
