Roy Black



Roy Black, age 85, died Thursday May 29, 2014 at home. Born in Gainesville Georgia, on July 7, 1928, he was the son of the late Dan and Clara Ivie Black. Roy served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a salesman for Thomas & Howard and was the owner of Black’s Curve View. In addition to his parents, Roy is preceded in death by his wife, Catherine R. Black; three brothers, Otis Black, John Black, and Charles Black; six sisters, Mary Chitwood, Irene Russ, Edna Mauney, Elizabeth Hubbard, Eloise Smith, and Jeanette Bridges.

Roy is survived by his three sons, Larry Black of Shelby, Terry Black and Pam of Fallston, and Jerry Black of Shelby; Six grandchildren, Jennifer Black Heavner, Brett Black, Curtis Black, Dillion Black, Skylar Black, Nicholas Black; and six great-grandchildren, Hayden Heavner, Brandon Black, Addison Black, Brooklyn Black, Bentley Black and Lydia Mendez.

Graveside services will be held on Monday June 2, 2014 at 10:00 am at Cleveland Memorial Park with Military Rites. The family will receive friends following the service.
