Ruby Champion Pegram
Born August 6, 1934 in Alamance County, NC, she was a daughter of the late William G. Champion and Callie Mae Prawell Champion. Ruby worked in textiles most of her life and was a Baptist. She was an AKC registered dog breeder and enjoyed flower gardening.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey P. Pegram, Jr. and two sisters, Peggy Dover and Virginia Dover.
Survivors include daughter, Ellen Hoppes of Ellenboro; three sons, Keith Pegram, Scott Pegram and wife, Lori and Rodney Pegram all of Ellenboro. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Reverend William Swink officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service at the cemetery.
