Ruby Lee Baynard
 Ruby Lee Baynard, age 99, of Forest City, died September 5, 2014 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County. 
 
     Born January 27, 1915 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late George Thomas Poteat and Elsie Radford Poteat.  She was a homemaker who also worked in textiles for several years.  Ruby loved taking care of her family and was known for her ability to grow just about anything. Besides gardening, she also enjoyed working on word puzzles.
 
     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-one years, Grover Bostic Baynard; son, James Baynard and two daughters, Linda Lee Parker, Patricia “Tish” Baynard; three sisters, Merle Poteat, Ruth Smart, Pauline Givens; brother, David Poteet and three grandchildren.
 
     Survivors include four sons, Charles W. Baynard and wife, Ellen of Rutherfordton, Jimmy L. Baynard and wife, Donnis of Shelby, Sammy G. Baynard and wife, Cora Lee of Augusta, Georgia and Billy G. Baynard of Forest City; three daughters, Margaret A. Sena and husband, Miguel of Augusta, Doris Fish (who was her caretaker) of Forest City and Beverly F. Layton and husband, Ricky of Myrtle Beach, SC.  She is also survived by thirty grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
 
     Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Michael Sepaugh officiating.  Interment will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
