Ruby Weaver, 88, of 217 Mt. Sinai Church Road, died , on Sunday July 6 at her home.  She was born on August 20, 1925.
A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Alpha Morrison.  She was a member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. She was a Past Worthy Matron of  the Shelby Chapter # 110 Order of The Eastern Star.  She drove a school bus for 16 years, both at South Cleveland and Number Three Elementary schools.  She earned 400+ volunteer hours as a “pink lady” at Cleveland Memorial Hospital. She did volunteer work for several years in the food ministry at Christopher Road Baptist Church.  She was instrumental in starting a Wednesday night meal ministry at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.  She loved to travel, fish, and work in her garden.

  
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Herman Weaver, a daughter, Kathleen Weaver Edmondson;  sisters Sara Lue Morrison Swink, Mary Frances “Nick” Morrison Holland and Eunice Morrison Parker and one brother Eugene “Pete” Morrison.

She is survived by her sons Clyde David Weaver and Horace Franklin Weaver and wife, Judy, of Shelby; three daughters, Hazel W. Thrift-Morrow and husband, David, Mary Coker and husband, Barry,  of Shelby, and Frances W. Edmondson and husband, Bruce of Grover;  two sisters, Gladys McSwain and Betty Trammel of Shelby; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 19 great- great- grandchildren.
