Sharon UMC Hosts Habitat for Humanity event
Out back, pitmaster John Abernethy slowly cooks his special barbecued chicken with the help of Eddie Padgett. John's been preparing this style of chicken for over 30 years.

On Saturday, July 11th, Sharon United Methodist Church held a fundraiser featuring a pit cooked bbq chicken dinner and all the fixings for Cleveland County Habitat for Humanity. All the proceeds went to help build a house for Peggy Lattimore. The church also recently prepared chicken dinners for both the Men's and Women's Shelters in Shelby. Pictured: Pastor, Rev. April Abernethy greets Peggy Lattimore and her daughter Shania at the Habitat for Humanity dinner at Sharon United Methodist Church.
