One of the most popular areas during the open swim was the kiddie pool!

Prior to the official opening of the Shelby Aquatic Center, an open swim was held on the weekend of June 6th and 7th. The official opening was Wednesday, June 10th. The hours for the pool are: Monday through Friday 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday 12 noon to 6 p.m. and Sundays, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The pool will be open to all during those hours. However, on the weekends of June 12, 13 & 14 and July 10, 11 & 12 the pool will be closed to the public for swim meets. The Shelby Aquatic Center is located at 850 West Sumter Street in Shelby City Park. Pricing is as follows: Children, 12 and under $3.00; ages 13 to 55, $4.00, all over 55 years of age, $3.00. Season passes 12 and under (city residents: $50) (all others $100); adults, 13 and over (city residents $60) (all others $120); 55 and over same as 12 and under. Family Plan: (4 members; husband and wife and two dependent children under 18 years of age; (city $150) (out of city $300). All are great bargains for summer fun!
