Shelby VFW donates over $200,000 in six years for student programs

This is the sixth year that the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post #4066 of Shelby presented a check to Cleveland County Schools' Exceptional Children programs. This year, the check totaled $50,000. Over the past six years the VFW has raised over $200,000 for this very worthwhile cause.
Students, teachers, veterans, and others gathered on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Cleveland County Schools Central Services, where the VFW presented the check.
The VFW hosted its sixth annual Bill Lynn Memorial Golf Tournament on April 26, 2019, which was the major fundraiser for the donation.
Along with the tournament, other methods of fundraising included a Poker Run, a silent auction, yard sales, and several other events.
All funds raised are sent to the Exceptional Children's Program, and all administrative or operating expenses are volunteered by the VFW membership.
To contribute to this very worthwhile cause please contact Shelby VFW Post 4066 at 704-487-9093.
