Shirley Ann Batchelor Love, 76, formerly of Possum Trot Road in Blacksburg, passed away Saturday, August 16th, 2014, at Peachtree Centre.
Born in Blacksburg, she was the widow of Odell Love and the daughter of the late Guy and Dolly Hall Batchelor. Mrs. Love was the "First Lady of Possum Trot," who dedicated her life to taking care of her husband, "The Mayor of Possum Trot," and family. She also worked as a cosmetologist and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, where she used to serve as a nursery worker.
Surviving Mrs. Love is one son, Marion Love, of Blacksburg; one brother, Lewis Batchelor, of Gaffney; and two sisters, Elizabeth Batchelor Plumley of Gaffney and Dale B. Minton of Darlington.,
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Love was preceded in death by a son, Keith F. Love, and an infant daughter.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 18th, 2014 ,from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 19th, at 3:00 pm at Antioch Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Compassus, 212 East Floyd Baker Blvd, Gaffney, SC 29340.
The family will be at their respective homes.
