The Master’s House Celebrates 9th Anniversary of Ministry

The Master’s House opened on August 1st, 2005 under the direction of David Piercy. It is a Christian home where men who have strayed into drug use or alcohol abuse can come, live and restructure their lives. Since opening, there have been over 400 men come through it’s doors. The Master’s House is able to take seven men at a time. They live there 24 hours a day as they strive to rebuild their lives in a healthy Christian environment. In the nine years they have had over 50 men return to their families and society in a positive manner.
David himself is a good example. He said: “After I got saved I wanted to do something positive and good. When I totally surrendered myself to The Lord, I decided to help others as I’ve been helped.” David came from a background of substance abuse. One of his most accomplished graduates of the program is a 28 year old young man named Ronald Lucian Bagwell, Jr. Ron’s uncle, Paster Bill Cole called David and asked for his help and take his nephew into the program. He did and it was the first of six times that Ron was to come to The Master’s House. Ron would come for a few months then leave and go back to his old ways. He was fighting prescription drug addiction. After the fifth time, it was Ron himself who called David and asked to come back. David said no, five times was enough. He wasn’t happy with Ron. However, after praying over it and Ron begging to return, he said yes.
Ron said: “I used to wake up all the time wondering what happened the day before.” I started at The Master’s House when I was 23 years old. Now, I’m 28, married to Amber and giving myself to The Lord. My wife and I read the Bible and pray every night. I’m a walking testimony that God is good. Previously, I didn’t like life and was trying to escape from it. I ended up in the hospital and because of all the drugs was on suicide watch. I prayed to The Lord to have a plan for me, and I finally became committed.”
This young man who had no job and was living in a little room at Bible Baptist Church, finally got  jobs at Wendy’s and Jersey Mike’s. He saved up, bought a car, moved in with his Grandma  and finally got a maintenance job. Ron’s now a machine operator and just got married. Ron Bagwell is a great example why The Master’s House exists and what it offers to those in need. He says: “I’d like to be closer to the Lord and do something in ministry.” The Master’s House is located in Shelby. For more information about this ministry visit www.mastershousenc.org.

The Master’s House first success story is that of Brother Jerry Loewnan of Atlanta, Ga. He’s pictured with his wife Lori and son Ethan. Jerry and his family came to the anniversary celebration to give testimony and offer their continued support to The Master’s House program.

One of the many triumphant “graduates” from The Master’s House program is Ron Bagwell, Jr. Gathered around Ron, in the picture is David Piercy of The Master’s House, Ron’s Uncle, Preacher Bill Cole, from Bible Baptist Church in Simpsonville, S. C., and his new bride, Amber. As you can tell each are happy with the outcome of Ron’s conversion. His accomplishment is extra special because Ron entered and  left the program six times before he finally succeeded.
