Thomas Edwin Cook, 76, of Hopewell Church Road, Shelby, passed away Sunday,
November 30, 2014 at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.
Born April 13, 1938 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Edwin
Arley Cook and Lizzie Lee Lail Cook Moss. Mr. Cook was a loving father,
friend and husband that was an avid outdoors man who loved to hunt and fish.
He was a 20 year veteran with the US Air Force. Mr. Cook was a maintenance
manger and plant engineer for Ester Mill and was also a HVAC instructor with
Gaston and Cleveland Colleges.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mary Alice Dauphin Cook; three sons,
Dwight Cook and wife, Christy of Shelby, Kenny Cook and wife, Judy of Casar
and Michael Cook and wife, Lynda of Shelby; a daughter, Anita Cook Weaver
and husband, Jimmy of Shelby; thirteen grandchildren and eleven
great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, Tuesday at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home &
Cremation Center, Fallston
Graveside Service: A private graveside service will be held on Wednesday at
Rose Hill Memorial Park, Fallston
