Tom Philbeck

Tom Philbeck, 86, a resident of White Oak Manor, passed away Saturday August 16, 2014 at White Oak. A native of Cleveland County he was better known as “The Egg Man” to the county residences, he was born January 8, 1928, son of the late Ephraim Mayberry and Lona Humphries Philbeck. He was a Charter Member of New Buffalo Baptist Church in Grover.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Carroll Philbeck; two sisters and six brothers. 

SURVIVED: He is survived by wife of 67 years, Ruth Hurdt Philbeck; five sons, Tom Philbeck, Jr. and wife Adriana of Charleston, SC, Steve Philbeck and wife Sherry of Meridian, MS, Rev. David Philbeck and wife Brenda of Bostic, Terry Philbeck and wife Susie of Tampa, FL, Doug Philbeck and wife Jeannie of Summerville, SC; one sister, Ruby Judd of Blacksburg, SC; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren. 

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held Wednesday 2:00pm at New Buffalo Baptist Church

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8:00pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.

CLERGY: Rev. Adam Green and his son Rev. David Philbeck will officiate. 

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery
