Tony Lee Stewart



Mr. Tony Lee Stewart, 65, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at his residence. A native of Cleveland County, he was born October 25, 1948, son of the late Lawrence Hardin and Rebecca Jo Hicks Stewart. He had worked at Hoechst Celanese and Kosa and for many years he was Director of Grover Youth Little League Baseball. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his wife Renee Blackburn Stewart of the home; one son, Kelly Stewart and wife Angela of Kings Mountain; two daughters, Cassie Turner and husband Russell of Blacksburg, SC, and Jodi Greene and husband Kenneth of Kings Mountain; one sister, Debbie Bradley and husband Maynard of Shelby; one brother, Mike Stewart and wife Kammie of Gastonia; five grandchildren, Brianna Stewart, Tori and Brody Turner, Mallory Harris, Alanna Greene, foster grandchild, Armani Marion; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Richard and Gerane Rippy of Blacksburg, Ronnie and Linda Blackburn of Shelby, Brevard Callahan and the late Barbara Callahan of Shelby; one nephew, Seth Bradley and wife Jessica of Shelby; two nieces, Taylor and Morgan Poole of Gastonia; and many other nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Friday at Dixon Presbyterian Church in Kings Mountain.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 6-8:30 pm Thursday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain and other times at his daughter, Jodi Greene’s home on Shelby Road in Kings Mountain.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Stewart Family Cemetery.
