Toy Store applications accepted Nov. 17-18, 2015

Plans are underway for the 2015 Toy Store, an opportunity for qualifying families to receive free Christmas toys for children ages 2-12. Sponsored by the Greater Cleveland County Baptist Association (GCCBA), this year's Toy Store will be open December 15th-18th, 2015 at the Shelby Mission Camp (302 Sharpton Drive, Shelby) and at Second Baptist Church, 120 Linwood Road, Kings Mountain. Applications for the store will be taken November 17th and 18th at the GCCBA office.
Those needing assistance for children ages 2-12 should plan to come to the GCCBA office (1175 Wyke Road, Shelby) between 9 - 11:30 a.m. or 1 - 4 p.m. on either Tuesday, Nov. 17, or Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015. Applicants should bring a picture ID with the correct address, a birth certificate or other official identification that includes the child's age or birth date. After applications have been approved, applicants will receive an invitation to shop at no charge in the 2015 Toy Store. Parents are able to choose three new gifts per child.
For those wanting to volunteer for the Toy Store, there are several opportunities. First, volunteers are needed to help families fill out application forms at the dates and times listed above. Secondly, toy donations are needed for the store for children ages 2-12. Donated toys should cost between $10-$15. Finally, helpers are needed to work at both locations of the Toy Store.
Last December, the GCCBA helped more 800 children through the Toy Store.
"This ministry has continued to grow each year, and we appreciate the support of the churches who give toys and money to purchase toys," said GCCBA Missions Team Leader Katie Harris. For more information, contact her by email at katie@gccba.org or by calling 704-482-3472.
