Vergie Ruth Peterson Dover, 80, of 1890 Martin Road, passed away Saturday, April 12th, 2014 at her residence.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of Palmer Dover and the daughter of the late Luther and Ethel Mullinax Peterson. Mrs. Dover worked as a homemaker and was a member of Broad River Baptist Church of Smyrna.

Surviving Mrs. Dover are three sons, Kenneth Dover of Hickory Grove, Andy Dover of Hickory Grove, and Stanley Dover of Gaffney; one brother, Lyman Peterson, of Blacksburg; three sisters, Sybil Mullinax of Gaffney, Frances Peterson of Gaffney, and Peggy Dover of Gaffney; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 15th, 2014, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 16th, 2014, at 2:00 pm at Broad River Baptist Church of Smyrna. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. 

The family will be at the home of Kenneth Dover, 1788 Martin Road, Hickory Grove.
