Mrs. Verlene D. Riley, 92, of 700 Self St., Cherryville, NC, passed away Friday, August 20, 2010. Services were held at Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Cedar Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery, Vale, NC.
Mrs. Riley was preceded in death by her husband, John Warner Riley; her parents, Wilson P. Dellinger and Kimmie Baker Dellinger; 4 brothers; and 5 sisters.
She is survived by 1 sister-in-law, Bertha Dellinger of Shelby; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Cedar Grove Lutheran Church, 261 Cedar Grove Church Road, Vale, NC 28168.
