Walter Clay Howard, 71, of Sommerset Court in Cherryville passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Sommerset Court in Cherryville.
Born May 20, 1942 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Joseph Floyd Howard and Mary Elizabeth Tesseneer Howard. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Howard.
Survivors include three brothers, Richard Howard of Boiling Springs, Don Howard of Boiling Springs, Robert Howard and wife, Sandra of Waco, one sister, Vickie Philbeck of Shelby, numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks for the exceptional care Walter received from Sommerset Court in Cherryville and Hospice Cleveland County.
Visitation will be Wednesday, from 11:00am-12:00 noon at Stamey Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Wednesday at 12:00 noon in the Stamey Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Dennis Bingham officiating.
