White named 2017 Academic Excellence Award Winner

Charles White of Boiling Springs is the 2017 Academic Excellence Award winner at Cleveland Community College. White graduated from CCC on May 10 with an Associate of Applied Science in Electronics Engineering Technology and an Associate in Applied Science in Automation Engineering Technology. He holds a 3.89 grade point average.
As part of his Electronics Engineering Technology training, White took and passed the exam required to become as Associate Certified Electronics Technician (CETa). This certification is valid for four years, and qualifies White to take the exam for the more advanced Journeyman certification in the future. White is currently employed by Duke Energy in the Power Career Intern Program.
Each year, one student is chosen at each of the state's 58 community colleges to receive the prestigious Academic Excellence Award. The winners are selected for their academic accomplishments and leadership ability.
At CCC's commencement program on May 10, White was presented with a medallion and a plaque in recognition of this achievement.
